The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers for the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency reported it is alarmed concerning the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly as a result of lack of website infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The assistance issue established for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for the Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more methods to help the servicing of all buyers and raise use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
